Design/Build of New VCP1 Facilities
Construction Cost: $19,955,408
Type of Project: Design-Build
Project Location: Fort Meade, MD
Project Owner: USACE Baltimore District

The project objective is to design and construct a new vehicle control point (VCP1) that enhances the security posture of the main entrance to the campus while accommodating the anticipated increased traffic demand.
The design and construction of all necessary facilities, including but not limited to new roadways, parking lots, canopies, guard booths, security gates, traffic arms, signage, etc., shall provide an appropriate level of quality to ensure the continued use of the facility over a period of time that would be industry standard for a major civilian sector project owner. The site infrastructure shall have at least a 50year life expectancy with industry standard maintenance and repair cycles. An additional project objective is to relocate the airplanes at National Vigilance Park. The contractor shall coordinate with the Government to relocate the airplanes to a location to be determined, within a 10-mile radius of their current location. The airplanes shall be dismantled as necessary, created where possible and otherwise protected from damage, including water damage, during the moving process and for storage in outdoor conditions.
